Our Pastor

Our Pastor

Pastor Mark Andrews was called to be the pastor of Story Mill Road Baptist Church on September 27, 2015.

Pastor Mark accepted Christ at 9 years of age and baptized shortly thereafter.  He graduated from Emmanuel Baptist Academy in Penn Yan, NY and went straight into ministry training at Practical Bible Training School (now Davis College) in Binghamton, NY.  While there he met and married the former Miss Jill Truax, of Covington, PA, the youngest daughter of Rev. and Mrs. John Truax.

He departed college in 1988 and joined the US Army and served as an infantryman and intelligence analyst for the next 21 years with duty assignments in Kansas, Germany and New York, as well as combat deployments in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Uphold Democracy.

In 2000, God worked in his life and returned Bro. Mark to the path God had planned for him since he was 16 years old.  Bro. Mark would then spent six years as a deacon and providing pulpit supply and Sunday School teaching and directing as God continued to lead.  In 2009, Bro. Mark would spend 3 ½ months as an interim pastor of a congregation in Oswegatchie, NY, prior to his accepting a job as a civilian employee of the US Army at Fort Gordon, GA.

After the move to GA, Bro. Mark continued to hone the skills the God had blessed him with and it was not long before he was called to pastor a congregation in Waynesboro, GA, a ministry he would work in for 2 years.  During that ministry, Bro. Mark was ordained to the Gospel ministry.

Bro. Mark completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Religion from Liberty University in 2011 and a Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Patriot Bible University in 2018.

Bro. Mark and Jill have 3 grown children and two grandchildren.
